Disney Forever!

Classic Disney Animation

  1. There's a really great Patton Oswalt bit that you should check out. The track is called "The Spirit Cave" from his album "Finest Hour." I wanted to blog about it in relation to the Tomorrowland chapter, but I couldn't justify it.

  2. I think this just reaffirms the ideas of the Tomorrowland chapter, as Disney is a sort of retro rendition of reality. Although these clips show how they used real movement to figure out how to animate movies the situations these actors where placed in are recognized as pretend. It is part of the construct. As Jean Baudrillard has said in his writing, Disneyland is the hyperreal and because we accept it as fake, it is more real than the surrounding area.

I just think this clip proves Disney sets up scenario based on the nostalgia we have for childhood. A construct of what we understand as fun and wholesome.

Yes real actors for animation but it is the situation these actors were placed in which signifies they are just part of the construct of Disney's "World"
