Bane

Found this article featuring Tom Hardy and Christopher Nolan talking about the character BANE in the The Dark Knight Returns. Anyone have any ideas as to what to expect from this character, I really have no idea who he is, I never read the comics. Will he have much of a personality or is he pretty much just a physical presence?

  1. I am actually interested in learning about that too. I don't know anything about him but with Tom Hardy playing him I'm sure it is going to be fun to watch. I do like the story behind the mask that he wears though. The fact that he is constantly pumped with painkillers so he cannot feel pain is pretty cool.

One question I have though is Bane a super-villain? He is still technically a human but he just is strong and takes a lot of medication. What is the breaking point between criminal and super-villain?

  2. HUGE! I did not know that Bane is to be seen throughout the new Batman and after a little explanation I hope you are too!

In a nutshell Bane is an intelligent and powerful addition to the Batman rogues gallery. His origin is something along the lines of being born in the worst prison in the world and surviving until he left the place as an adult. His actions as a crime kingpin literally cripples Batman in the story arc's: Knightfall parts 1 and 2. His powers are super strength given to him through a chemical solution slash drug called Venom which is highly addicting, allows him not to feel pain, etc, etc.

While his powers and main influence are physical, Bane is crazy cool mentally. A little wikipediaing will explain things further but we should all be excited for this super-villains appearance and plans for Gotham city.

There should be just enough information loaded on here to not break your back haha. Peace.

  3. He does sound kinda tight, for some reason I still wish they had picked the Riddler, I feel like they could potentially twist him into a pretty dark character. I just really hope he isn't your typical "smash-em-up" villain, I like the trend in the Dark Knight series of psychological warfare
